![]() ![]() We realise as we age, that others influence our thoughts, which create the self-belief. Once I realised the difference, I decided to change my outlook on things and chose to be excited – and instead, feeling the fun! With this, my confidence also built. ![]() Mine were nervously energetic, yet I was pleased when these events were over. I would think “uh-oh, yikes,” where he would think “wow, exciting!” I could see that he was having fun with the idea, but my thoughts and words were creating fear. ![]() Where I was fearful, my friend was excited. I had a habit of thinking fearfully for events I was partaking in. This is a simple example, but such a valid one: – I once noticed the difference of thought-and-word between a friend and I. I love the comparison to the film: “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” When you understand that thoughts and words create beliefs, which create our behaviours, we can see traits in ourselves once we are aware of these. I never knew the importance of the awareness of “thought.” It is truly the difference between happiness and sadness, confidence and shyness, courage and fear. ![]()
